Practice S.P.A.C.E. is an informal group of Finding Freedom participants who connect monthly.

We all need Support and to gain Perspective from other people in the We Are Finding Freedom community. Think of it like an Accountability circle where we gently Challenge each other and Embody what it's like to be in the practice of being anti-racist in the world. It was started by participant Kristen Cox and workshop facilitator Susannah Bartlow.

How it works:

  • Two people who have been through Finding Freedom—your peers!—will hold the space.

  • Two people who have a sticky situation, or need support and accountability, will share their stories and ask for what they need.

  • Other Finding Freedom participants will be part of the community space and provide feedback to the people who share.

  • Depending on what people need, sometimes we catch up about our work or revisit an exercise from Finding Freedom that resonates with one of us.

We hope you can join us!

Practice S.P.A.C.E. is a gift to the We Are Finding Freedom community, so there's no cost to register. If you'd like to help us cover the administrative costs, please choose the Register + Support option at checkout. You can always become a Monthly Sustainer of We Are Finding Freedom if you would like to support our work on an ongoing basis.

“It was great to talk to everyone and work on a problem that I'd gone over and over in my mind. I don't have many other people who I can talk to who I know are both interested in dismantling white supremacy AND willing to really dig into specific situations, while holding each other accountable in a really compassionate way.  I am looking forward to the next one :)”

— Anna Sommo, 2022 Finding Freedom alum
