Fall 2026 Atlanta Finding Freedom with Evangeline & Lila

from $0.00

Hey, White ATLiens! Let’s Circle Up!

From extreme income inequality and persistent racial wealth gaps to ongoing battles over voting rights and voter suppression, we feel the enduring impact of systemic racism everyday.

The Stewart Detention Center and proposed expansions, along with the Stop Cop City resistance to the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center, highlight urgent issues of immigration justice, environmental racism, and state power violence.

At the same time, Atlanta’s civil rights legacy and a hub of Black liberation movements reminds us of the transformative power of collective action.

White people! Let’s confront these realities together. Connect and build relationships within our local community to challenge white supremacy with our friends and neighbors and be ready to show up in solidarity with people of color for collective liberation.

How are we as white women and genderqueer folks contributing to white supremacy?

What keeps us from bringing our full selves to ending structural racism?

How can we move into action and convince other white people in our lives to do the same in our communities and at the ballot box?

Finding Freedom: White Women Taking On Our Own White Supremacy is a workshop that deepens our individual and collective understanding of how we as white women and genderqueer people are complicit with white supremacy. We dive into how to live more deeply and consistently into our racial justice commitments. Join us to move yourself and other white people in your community to fight for racial, economic and gender justice right now.

This in-person retreat of Finding Freedom will take place in the Metro-Atlanta area and will be facilitated by Evangeline and Lila with support from Maggie and Shira.

Is this workshop right for me?

All women and gender-nonconforming, non-binary and trans people, and all white and mixed-race folks, who are interested in exploring the intersection of white womanhood and white supremacy are welcome to join us. The categories of “white” or “woman” might not be exactly how you define yourself. This workshop may still be useful to you if you were socialized as a white female and/or you are perceived as one today.

We warmly welcome people of all class backgrounds. And we do not turn people away due to cost. We offer a sliding scale that allows people to register according to their current class status and also have limited free tickets available for people who are currently poor.

This workshop focuses on United States history, context and current reality. Women from outside the US are welcome to join us, as long as you understand we will be using a US-based frame.
