People of all gender expressions, and all mixed-race and white-presenting people of color, who are interested in exploring their ancestry through an anti-racist lens are welcome to join us. The category of “white” may not be exactly how you define yourself. This workshop may still be useful to you if you want to explore the white parts of your identity.
As a working-class facilitation team, we strongly believe that cross-class spaces are vital to ending white supremacy and we warmly welcome people of all class backgrounds. We do not turn people away due to cost and offer free tickets.
This workshop focuses on United States history, context and current reality. People from outside the US are welcome to join us, as long as you understand we will be using a US-based frame.

Redistribution Rate Tickets $525: We invite middle and upper-middle-class participants to purchase tickets at this level as an act of cross-class solidarity that enables more poor and working-class people to participate. Building together as white women across class is crucial to ending white supremacy.
Full Rate Tickets $325: For currently middle-class participants. These tickets are “at cost.” They enable us to cover the expenses related to putting on this workshop.
Working Class Rate Tickets $125: For currently working-class participants only. Your perspective and life experience are invaluable.

I’m a white Durham-based dyke who was raised working class in rural Southern Indiana. A member of the national board of Showing Up for Racial Justice, I support our movements as a facilitator and consultant on racial, gender, economic and healing justice. My political roots rest in resistance to state violence toward families, and I work toward restoring the spiritual and community health of my working-class white people. I believe we as white folks can and must free ourselves from internalized white supremacy, build mutual interest and solidarity with people of color both in the US and around the world, and organize for collective liberation. Living in the South means I love storytelling, pettiness, good food and music, jokes, screened-in porch sitting, and (r)evolution. Let’s get free!

I grew up white in a blue-collar family in the woods and fields of so-called Indiana. My people come from Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Germany, Russia and France and were among early settlers following buffalo trails through the bluegrass to colonize stolen land throughout Appalachia and up into the midwest.
Quakers at Earlham College invited me to articulate my values and attach them to social action. A decade in Philadelphia taught me about hoagies and pho, nonprofit burnout, tending bar, and pediatric nursing. Love brought me to Georgia in 2015, where I live with my best friend in Stone Mountain.
I am an educator and organizer who is passionate about biocultural diversity, community based food, health and healing, youth work, and growing roots in Southern organizing traditions. I support and am supported by relationships with the People’s Institute for Survival & Beyond, Southern Movement Assembly, Project South, Atlanta Anti-Racist Organizing Committee, European Dissent ATL, West Atlanta Watershed Alliance, AFM Quakers for Racial Equality, Harriet Tubman Foot Clinic, Showing Up for Racial Justice ATL, and neighbors who haven’t decided on fancy names.
I love music, hammocks, sharing food and pushing my growing edge with white kin to undo white supremacy from within and organize for liberation of all beings and our environment.
